about

We wrote this song as a part of processing some great teaching on being made in the image of God (imago dei) from Northwest Grace Youth Camp in Auburn, WA. Some of the Scriptures we were noodling are: Genesis 1:26-27, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Romans 12:2. We loved the idea that even as God has put unique qualities into each person, (intellect, emotions, will), after someone puts their faith in Christ, He is a new creation and is constantly being formed and made into the person God designed him/her to be. So that process of being made in His image has a past and a present component. God is just amazing.

lyrics

1. It’s been a long, hard road since yesterday.
I’ve had my share of fears and doubts.
But there’s a Truth that lifts my spirit,
And this is what it’s all about.
Let me tell you something, brother. Let me lay down the facts:
God made me with a purpose, and God’s Word tells me that-

Chorus:
I was made in the image, made in the image, made in the image of God.
I was made in the image, made in the image, made in the image of God.
He made me think, He made me feel and He’s given me a will.
That’s how I know I was made in the image of God.

2. Oh Lord, I thank You for the way You made me.
I’m here to give You all the praise.
Now I know that when my Jesus died for me
He saved me from my wanderin’ ways.
Every day I read my Bible, Your glory shines down on me.
You speak to me and You change me. You give me the victory!

Chorus 2:
I was made in the image, made in the image, made in the image of God.
I was made in the image, made in the image, made in the image of God.
He made me think, He made me feel and He’s given me a will.
That’s how I know I was made in the image of God.
That’s how I know I was made in the image of God.
